Create a Form Change and Version Record

Why version forms

Operational forms may be relied on for site records, inspections, sign-offs and evidence. A simple change record helps administrators identify when a question, rule or notification changed.

Procedure

1. Export the current form JSON before making a major change.
2. Record the form name, form ID, date and reason for the change.
3. Make changes on staging where available.
4. Test normal, exception, notification and access paths.
5. Export the approved form after testing and label the file with a version/date.
6. Deploy using the approved change process.
7. Confirm the live form and embedded page work as expected.

Do not confuse exports

A Gravity Forms JSON export is for form configuration. A WordPress WXR/XML export is for WordPress content such as pages. They are different file formats and are not interchangeable.
